Comments Requested for Exposure Draft

The UN Global Compact is pleased to announce that on International Human Rights Day, we released an Exposure Draft of a Business Guide to the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) for public comment and consultation.  By contextualizing the UNDRIP in a business context, this Guide aims to help businesses meet the corporate responsibility to respect indigenous peoples’ rights and identify opportunities to support these rights.

We encourage comment on any portion of the draft.  Comments can be sent by replying to this email or to undrip@unglobalcompact.org through 1 June 2013.  Additionally, we welcome you to circulate the Exposure Draft with your networks.

As another way to contribute input, you are invited to participate in one of the upcoming consultation webinars.  Although each webinar is regionally focused, feel free to attend any of the following:

Asia-Pacific:  27 February, 3:00 GMT Register
Americas:  9 April, 16:00 GMT Register
Americas:  17 April, 16:00 GMT Register (in Spanish)
